DESCRIPTION

This wine, called “Roxanne”, comes from a part of the French Burgundy sub-region of the Maconnais.  The village of Chaintré lies outside of the town of Macon, and is adjacent to the more famous Pouilly-Fuissé area.  It’s 100% Chardonnay, made without oak.  On the palate the wine is dry, full-bodied, with excellent crispness and some mineral notes.  If you’re looking for a white wine that has complex flavors beyond its price range, this is it!  Pairs well with seafood (especially shellfish) and poultry, as well as many vegetable dishes.
